| Digital Radiography
Our practice has utilized Digital
Radiography since 1999 to take x-rays. Digital Radiography is a
computerized x-ray that replaces standard film and processing, which provide
the patient with several distinct advantages:
- Substantial reduction in radiation
Computerized x-rays use senors rather than film and therefore require
less radiation
- A comfortable sensor
Digital Radiography uses a patented sensor with rounded, comfortable
corners which makes the process of taking x-rays easier, more efficient
and far more comfortable.
- The ability to computer enhance and
enlarge the x-ray image. What used to be a postage sized film is now
enlarged to a large percentage of the nineteen inch monitor. What an
improvement in diagnostic information.
- The image is available immediately.
There is no waiting for processing or the "We will call you if we
see anything on the x-rays." If there are any dental issues we can
discuss them right there and you can decide what you would like to do
about them.
- Biohazards. The
solutions utilized in the processing of x-ray images are not
environmentally friendly. There is a real problem on their disposal. Not
requiring them solves that problem.
- The images can be e-mailed to
specialists for faster feedback
